The Dalry Bypass scheme is the construction of a 4km bypass and associated junctions to the east of Dalry and will connect with the existing A737 trunk road. The project included the development of a 400m span A737 Viaduct spanning across the River Garnock, a Railway Line and local roads. The scheme will improve journey times on the A737 between Glasgow and North Ayrshire, and relieve congestion in the town of Dalry.
The proposed new single carriageway road will leave the existing A737 near Highfield, to the north-east of Dalry. The road will then pass to the east of the town, crossing the Glasgow to Ayr railway line and the River Garnock, before re-joining the existing A737 near Hillend Farm to the south.
